If you don’t know about chlorella yet, here’s some information about this precious superfood. Add it to your shakes and you will soon appreciate its benefits!

Chlorella is an algae that grows in fresh water. It contains the highest amount of chlorophyll of any known plant. It is used to boost the immune system and fight infections. It increases good bacteria in the GI track, which helps with ulcers, colitis, diverticuloses and Crohn’s desease. It can also be used for constipation, fibromyalgia, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Chlorella is known to protect the body from reactions to cancer radiation treatment. You should consume it to detoxify the liver from alcohol, pesticides, herbicides and heavy metals such as mercury.

Chlorella is a nutrient dense food. It contains 60% protein (18 amino acids including all essential amino acids). It is a good source of essential fatty acids (The famous Omega-3!). Aside form its chlorophyll content, that fresh water algae is also consumed for the beta-carotene and RNA/DNA. You will also find more than 20 vitamins and minerals in a single scoop of the green powder (good source of iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorous, pro-vitamin A, vitamins C, B1, B2, B2, B5, B6, B12, E and K, biotin, inositol, folic acid, plus vitamins C, E and K).
