My everyday light breakfast:
Chia seeds and fruits!
How many times have we heard our mother tell us how important breakfast is? Well, it’s not always true. If we eat heavy foods like eggs, bacon, white bread, dairy or any type of processed/ready to eat breakfast, we are actually making the digestion more difficult for our body, which can result in a lack of energy and discomfort.
I believe that a light breakfast is the way to go, in order to start our day the right way. A fresh fruit salad with some Chia seeds will give you all the energy you need and will help you digestion. It is a great breakfast for those wishing to lose some weight.
Chia seeds contain 30% of protein, 30% of fibers and a load of antioxidants and calcium. Chia seeds have the highest Omega-3 level in the world. They surpass fish oil and flax seeds (which bay the way, have to be grounded in order to be assimilated by our body. Chia seeds do not.) Chia seeds will boost your energy, aid your digestion, stabilize your blood sugar, and lower your cholesterol. Chia seeds are simply the BEST!!!
When Chia Seeds are soaked in liquid, they expand up to nine times their original size and release their nutrients. The longer they soak, the more the health benefit! The seeds can be soaked in water, nut milk, fruit/vegetable juice…
The seeds and liquid will form a Gel that absorbs the flavor of the liquid. You can add them to many recipes that are designed for people with food sensitivities as well.
Fruits and Chia
Soak 1 or 2 tablespoons of whole organic Chia seeds in 3 to 6 (or more) tablespoons of pure water. Let sit for 10 minutes, until the seeds form a gel (similar to tapioca). Add all your favorite fruits and you’ve got a nice breakfast!
You can also add some dried berries (Goji Berries, Mulberries, golden berries, etc.), raisins, pumpkin seeds, Hemp seeds, agave or maple syrup, whatever pleases you!
