I said on my last post that I would give you a recipe with Nutritional Yeast, the secret ingredient to dairy-free “cheese” sauces. Going vegan doesn’t mean that you have to give up cheese. It just means that you are about to discover a whole new world! It is possible to make creamy pasta sauces, dips and dressings that you could swear have dairy products in it, without having any.
Here is an easy sauce that I make with cashews. You can use it on steamed veggies or as a dip, and you can play with the ingredients to make all kinds of pasta sauces.
- 1 cup cashews
- 1 tablespoon tahini
- 1 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 4 tablespoons nutritional yeast
All you need to do is….Blend all ingredients until smooth! Enjoy, cold or warm!
