Orion has been teaching yoga in Thailand since 2005. Our Orion Flow Ashtanga Vinyasa training incorporates all the amazing aspects that Orion Healing Centre has to offer, to create a training that will in corporate yoga, wellness &  nutrition and a holistic understanding of the body.

This training embraces all aspects of traditional yoga and gives students the tools necessary to deepen their practice and share their love of yoga with others. The training is influenced by the Ashtanga system and incorporates an approach that allows for the individual to find his or her own practice, through deep connection with oneself, respect and compassion.

We also incorporate yin (restorative) class to the schedule to bring balance to the asana aspect of the training and the moon salutation, a more restorative practice.

Leading on from the concept of Ahimsa we teach of the benefits of a plant based diet plant, incorporating into the course a Raw Food cooking class, where students will learn dishes that support this concept.

Ahimsa or non-injury means entire abstinence from causing any pain or harm whatsoever to any living creature, either by thought, word, or deed. Non-injury requires a harmless mind, mouth, and hand. Ahimsa is positive, cosmic love.

Coco – Lead Teacher and Yoga Philosophy

1559483_681398148593576_8604139933336151326_o

Born in Canada, Corinne (Coco) started practicing yoga after the birth of her son. After 16-years of both practicing and teaching ballet and contemporary dance, she warmed easily to yoga. It soon became much more than a physical practice, but a body, mind and soul connection. In 2005, Corinne made her first trip in Mysore India and studied AshtangaVinyasa Yoga with V. Sheshadri, an international yogasana champion.

In 2009, Corinne met Michael Gannon in Mexico who motivated her to dive deeper into her practice and act on this profound calling.

Since then, Corinne has dedicated her life to the traditional practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga to create a strong connection of trust and compassion with students. Corinne practices Third Series and her practice of Ashtanga is the daily teaching. She has been practicing and studying with many teachers to refine her practice and teaching, and to be able to adapt to many different students and bodies. She has been practicing with Rolf Naujokat in Goa, Vijay Kumar in Mysore and Devorah Sacks in San Francisco. She also studies with her Gururi close to Mysore where she learns Sanskrit and philosophy of Bhagavat Gita and Yoga Sutras. Corrine is passionate about food and its connection to yoga philosophy and teaches a workshops combining Ashtanga with raw food in the Mayan jungle. As a recognised teacher in the Riviera Maya/Mexico, Corinne has been teaching throughout Mexico, South America, Canada and the United States to share her love for the practice.

Through this traditional method, Corinne has made it her goal to instill in her students the discipline to embark on this devotional journey by bettering their mind and body with the intention to positively affect everything and everyone around them because at the end she truly believes that “everything is connected and that we are all one”.

She brings to Orion her enthusiasm of sharing this beautiful practice and devotion to the tradition of yoga.

YOGA ANATOMY AND ASSISTANT TEACHER – EWA JUSZCZYK

Yoga TTC teacher Training Courses in Thailand Orion 1

Ewa has been practicing yoga for 16 years, and teaching since 2004. Her yoga journey began with Iyengar Yoga in 2000 when she studied with Geeta Iyengar. Her yoga journey continued when she discovered Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and studied under Authorized Level II Teacher, Basia Lipska. Further studies brought her to Mysore to study with BNS Iyengar in 2012. The same year, Ewa studied intensively with Kamal Singh in Rishikesh, India.

Other authorized teachers Ewa has studied with are: Maty Ezraty, Tim Feldman, Petri Reisenen, Noah McKenna, Ajay Tokas, Kino MacGregor, and Bela Lipat. Over the years, she continued her yogic studies of Yin, Vinyasa, Pranayama, Yoga Philosophy, Alignment, Slow Flow, and Flex. Recently Ewa runs the Ashtanga Mysore Program at Yoga Maya and Yoga Therapy Programs for Dancers and Musicians at Codarts in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Ewa views her yogic practice as Art, Philosophy, and Science. She personally follows the dictum that to be a teacher, one must first be a student, and knows the greatest lessons a teacher can learn come from experience with a variety of situations and students. She believes that as a teacher, it is essential to stay open to the continuous learning process, be aware of opportunities for growth, and practice with gratitude.

Passionate, patient, and proficient methods of daily practice brought her to a deeper understanding of what yoga is all about. With her greatest pleasure, she will share her experience, love, and trust of the system of yoga. Ewa’s teachings are honest, pure, and challenging with a good dose of humor. Her purpose is to nourish, enhance, and regenerate the body; bring stillness to the mind; and balance overall for personal development. Ewa’s hands-on adjustments are precise and effective, so she can awaken the inner potential of students. She holds a strong charismatic presence with compassion, love, and good will.

Based on understanding the needs and abilities of each individual, she inspires people to go beyond personal limitations with daily diligent practice. The emphasis in her teaching is on proper alignment and a balanced flow of prana (life force or energy) throughout the body. Incorporating yoga philosophy each step of the way, she works with a great respect of the traditional parampara (teacher to student transmission) and constantly deepens her knowledge and teaching skills to benefit her students.

“Personally, yoga became more than just a practice. It’s my lifestyle, and I choose to live it 24/7.”

– Ewa Juszczyk

Yoga TTC teacher Training Courses in Thailand Orion 2

With a Master’s Degree in Physical Education from the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice, Poland, Ewa developed a deep understanding of the human body: anatomy, physiology, and the effects of different sports trainings – which led to a two-year research project studying the use of yoga postures for students of different ages, fitness levels, and general health conditions. Her knowledge continues to expand in her daily practice as a Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist for Codarts – Dance, Music, and Circus Academy in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

“Yoga is a process of replacing old patterns with new and more appropriate patterns”

– Sri T. Krishnamacharya

Philosophy Teacher – Swami Pujan

Yoga TTC Thailand

Swami Pujan (Stephan Kahlert) is a German-born Psychologist who studied Yoga Philosophy (Jnana Yoga) in India and Australia for many years. He received the title of “Swami” after initiation with his teacher, Bhagavan Shree Rajneesh, who is a world-renowned spiritual guide and teacher from Puma, India. Through his first teacher, he continues to transmit the message that spirituality is a joyful journey, filled with passion and the celebration of life.

“I want you to become a declaration of bliss. Your very being has to pulsate with joy, because joy is prayer. Your very climate has to be that of celebration, because celebration is your worship.” – B. S. Rajneesh

After the passing of his teacher in 1990, Swami Pujan pursued his interest in studying Theravada Buddhism and teaching Vipassana Meditation Retreats in Australia and New Zealand, as well as studying Soto Zen Buddhism under the Japanese master, Hogen Daido Yamahata.

In Australia, he was the staff teacher at Byron Yoga Center for over ten years and facilitated seminars and retreats all over Asia and Europe. He currently resides on Koh Phangan with his wife, sharing his knowledge in a very approachable way for Western students. His teaching style is fun and engaging, and he has the ability to explain complex Eastern philosophical concepts in an easy-to-grasp way for people of all levels.

Course Co-ordinator & Assistant Teacher – Ben Makosch

For Ben, yoga has been a practice that very quickly became a passion, and soon after a way of life.

His practice started in 2008 with Iyengar Yoga under Joey Mascarenhas in Zurich. Joey’s precise style, teaching, and careful guidance set Ben upon his path. After three years of Iyengar Yoga, he felt ready to dive deeper into yoga and become a qualified teacher.

Swapping his career in club management for a full time life on the yoga mat, Ben completed an intensive 500hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in Thailand and began his teaching journey.

The instructions he experienced during his training were deep and profound, which inspired him to completely shift his lifestyle in a more healthy and sustainable direction.

His passion for yoga then took him to NYC to an anatomy-based, physical Vinyasa training. With these in-depth studies of two uniquely different styles of yoga, he honed his skills and combined the modern aspects of Vinyasa Flow with the more traditional forms of Hatha Yoga – energy/chakra-balancing and meditative yoga. Explaining the true meanings of asana, resonance, and polarity in a comprehensive way, Ben helps the practitioner understand the specific emotions or energies that are commonly set free in each posture.

Fusing these styles of yoga offered Ben a fresh approach to the ever-changing forms of a modern-day yoga class which is designed for the benefit of practitioners on all levels. He strives to present yoga in its spiritual, scientific, and pure form in a way that is transparent and accessible for the variety of practitioners today, creating a blend of slow spiritual traditions from the East with the fast-flowing forms of yoga in the West.

Ben has recently moved his base from New York to Koh Phangan, Thailand. Here, he studied under Lorraine Taylor and learnt how to work with energy movement during parts of the Ashtanga primary series. This immersion under Lorraine’s beautiful guidance has helped him fine-tune his flows even further, creating a complete set of sequences that work on a deep physical, mental, and emotional level for each practitioner.

With the solid awareness of alignment, fused with elements of Hatha and Vinyasa, Ben guides students to move in a meditative flow throughout class, transitioning skillfully from posture to posture. The whole practice is a meditation through movement. Creating this practice while exploring and discovering different techniques of yoga, fusing them together, and playfully bringing them to the mat – Ben has developed his teaching into a pure expression of his true passion.

Working and living full time on Koh Phangan as Yoga Manager and Vinyasa Teacher Training course co-ordinator at Orion has given Ben a unique chance to experience many different teachers, courses, and full exposure to the business of yoga. Ready to help you with any questions or concerns during the course and beyond.
