Last weekend we celebrated World Ocean’s Day, an international reminder of the major role the oceans have in our everyday lives. The blue waters which make our planet unique are also our lungs, producing most of the oxygen we need to thrive. It’s fair to say that every day is a celebration of our oceans, manifested in our mere existence. Water is the source of all life, it nourishes us and every living being in the world. Yet we still don’t truly understand all of the healing properties that water provides us with.
Water is Therapy
Water fasting alone has been proven to drastically reduce harmful toxins in the body. It is one of the oldest forms of therapy practiced by many of the world’s ancient cultures. One of the main purposes of fasting is to allow the body full range and scope to fulfil its own self-healing, self-repairing and self-rejuvenating functions to the best advantage.
It gives our overworked organs time to rest and rehabilitate and enhances the internal power and vitality of the body to flush out toxic poisons and waste that have been stored in the body for years. Water fasting promotes tranquility of mind and a glow that no other therapy can offer.
Conscious Connections
Japanese scientist Emoto has done ground-breaking research with water which shows that water is conscious and receptive to human energy/intention, that it has intelligence and wisdom. Since we humans are made primarily of water, our relationship with it is central to our relationship with our own selves.
Through his experiments with water, he discovered that water from clear springs and water that has been exposed to loving words, such as “love” and “gratitude”, shows brilliant, complex, and colourful snowflake patterns, while water from polluted sources or water exposed to negative thoughts forms incomplete, asymmetrical patterns with dull colours. This revealed the true nature of water and how thoughts and vibrations affect it’s molecular structure.
This conscious connection we share with water is more important than we think. The native American Hopi tribe, who hold a great wisdom and connection to nature, released this pertinent message on the subject:
Water sustains all life. Her songs begin in the tiniest of raindrops, transform to flowing rivers, travel to majestic oceans and thundering clouds and back to earth again. When water is threatened, all living things are threatened. – Indigenous Declaration on Water, 2001
The Fight to Keep our Oceans Clean
With the advent of the internet and social media we are able to raise more awareness about the importance of water which starts with the battle against plastic pollution in our oceans. Year after year it seems the eco-movement is catching on and more countries are moving towards sustainability. Yet there is still so much work to be done and each and every person and organisation needs to take action.
At Orion Healing Centre we are proud to be doing our part in the preservation and honour of all sacred waters. Being on an island we realise how fragile the balance of nature is, and we see the daily effect of the overuse of plastic on our shores.
Since our humble beginnings we have cultivated practices to truly call ourselves an eco-resort and to minimize our footprint. We have placed one of the colourfully painted Samui Mermaid bins at our entrance, a non-profit that helps spread the word about cleaner beaches and garbage awareness on Koh Samui. These are beautiful reminders for us to respect our oceans and beaches and to make the world a plastic free and better place. One of our founders gives a day each week to help the Samui bins team paint these bins, a small step towards a cleaner planet.
In addition, we give all our program guests stainless steel “Trash Hero” bottles to avoid the use of plastic bottles and our centre has free water refill stations across the campus. We avoid providing people with take away plastic containers, rather we sell reusable lunch boxes for takeaway orders from our award winning Orion Cafe.
Water is life as we know it. It feeds us, heals us, and reacts to us. Let’s first be grateful for this life-giving element by taking steps to keep our oceans safe and waters clean. Once we cease to think of water as separate from ourselves we can then begin to work with it’s healing properties and discover the transformative therapeutic benefits it offers. When you’re ready to take the next step into a holistic water fast and colon cleansing we hope you’ll visit our renowned healing centre.
We pray for healing blessings on the waters
We pray for healing blessings on the sea
We pray for healing blessings on the rivers
That they may shine in crystal purity/flow in perfect harmony
